I want to make a brief entry here concerning what is good about SRF.
I didn't stay for 25 years because I was completely miserable, I had some fun there too. I made a few good friends who I still love and I wish them all of my best.
I learned how to meditate and I am grateful for that.
SRF makes their money selling books and lessons and wooing celebrities. They do not send their members out on the street or door to door. They do not use any physically harmful methods to control members and they do not come after you when you leave.
In fact I do not think they even know I left. They still send me brochures for books and really that is their main interest in members to begin with. Tithing and books. They do not strong arm you.
SRF has a beautiful garden in Southern California and they keep it open for public enjoyment free of charge.
They are not evil, just manipulative and misguided. They are no worse than a lot of other fundamental religions and extreme groups.
I did not start this blog to hurt them or try to bring them down. It is just my intention to let others know that they are not what their PR company makes them out to be. There is more to the story.
Peace and Best Wishes,
KD
