Why a blog?
Well, to begin with I was playing with the idea to start a blog and before I knew what I was doing, here I was. Blogging.
My story:
In 1982 I joined a group. What I allege to be a cult. A mild cult, but still, a cult. It made sense at the time. There came a time (about 25 years later) when I left the cult. What happened in between and what I have learned about the cult since is the basis of this blog. I have moved on in my life (and I have a great life) but I want to share some of the stuff. Someone might find it interesting or helpful. I am not a writer or an intellectual so this blog is going to be something along the lines of a brain dump.
Thanks for stopping by. I'll try to keep it light and fun.

Hey, i just read all the brain dump in one go so far. I am yogistar. you can find me on YUKU where i can give you my email address. I also left a message there. but thanks for all the great info. You are funny as ever!
ReplyDeleteWow! You've shared lots of information that I'm sure very few people would know. I've gone to the srf temple a few times and signed up for the home correspondence course-about 5 years ago. I never completed them or got initiated. I had a hard time with pledging allegiance to the 'master' and the home course looked just like Catholic Sunday school lessons. But I've learned more about srf from you in this blog than I could ever gather on my own.
ReplyDeleteIt's refreshing to see an insiders perspective. These 'gurus' use the same techniques in their business. It takes people like you to de-mystify the image they've created to attract seekers. Thanks for blogging and keep it up! I'll be coming back often
Congratulations on the blog! I like it very much. I had a similar experience experience with the late Sri Chinmoy and his organization, which I blogged about here. Surprising the many parallels. It would be nice to touch base with you some time and talk.
ReplyDeleteWell, typing too fast, I guess, and messed up that link, but our blogs have a similar theme, albeit about different groups. Mine is at www.abodeofyoga.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteHi Y,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your blog. Wow! You have a complete book there! Keep up the good work.
Best Wishes,
Katie
